Summer Time, a great time to relax, recharge and enjoy the company of family and friends. There’s less structure, more free time and hopefully less work and more vacation!
If you are like me summer time is all these things but it is also a challenging time, a time, I find to be a little harder in keeping a balance and being mindful.
This week I am getting back into the swing of things after a week in LBI. I am finding that balance again!
One thing I realized on this journey is that it is all about balance. It’s not about being restrictive. It is about living your life with balance. It is not a diet but a lifestyle. I choose to live a healthy lifestyle which doesn’t mean I can’t have the not so healthy stuff, it means I have chosen not to have it. Now will there be meals or days when I do chose the not so healthy stuff? Absolutely! But now I learned that I move on from those times, get right back on track and make healthier choices. Again, it is all about BALANCE.
By surrounding myself with like-minded people it has made it that much easier to get right back on track. As they say, “Your tribe affects your vibe”
Everywhere I look at Jeni-Fit: clients, instructors, fellow DYWers, there is someone to cheer you on, giving you the motivation and inspiration you need. Sometimes I am that person giving the encouragement someone may need during a class and other times one of you are the encouragement I need to make it through.
Even at those times when I may not be making the healthiest choice, I am being mindful of the choice I am making so I do not go overboard like I used to. I make the choice, accept it and move forward. No more beating myself up and going on a downward spiral. Finding balance requires internal strength, to push yourself and flexibility, to adapt to changes.
As summer is winding down I hope all of you are enjoying these last couple of weeks. I hope you can find some balance and not beat yourself up when you don’t! Just remember all of us at Jeni-Fit will be here when you get back to help you, encourage you and motivate you. Just think you are probably inspiring someone too!
