Making Healthy Changes in the New Year

The New Year allows us to start on a clean slate. It provides a starting point for us to make changes in different aspects of our lives, like our goals, our relationships, our health, and our wellness.

More and more studies have shown that things like processed foods, red meat, and being sedentary are risk factors that have all been linked to cancer. But, with risk factors come ways to prevent them.

One of the best things you can do for reducing your chances of cancer, is changing your diet. Nutritionist Christina Lavner, RD says that your plate should be at least half veggies, while the other two quarters be made up of a lean protein, like beans, and a whole grain, like brown rice. Getting in plenty of nutritious fruits and drinking water will also put you on the right path. With that being said, it’s important to remember that no one food is a magic cure to cancer. Eating a wide variety of whole plant foods and making as many healthy choices as possible is what’s important.

With our Deflate Your Weight program, we make sure that everyone knows that eating healthier is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. By providing well balanced meal plans weekly, and getting moving daily, we provide a forever formula to success.

Speaking of getting moving, studies have shown that exercise can reduce the risk of some cancers by up to 50 percent. Moving more, along with a healthy diet, helps reduce the chances of obesity, which is another risk factor for many cancers. By joining JeniFit Studios, you have the option to take a variety of classes like spin, barre, boxing, pilates, etc. We also offer personal training sessions and we’re always having pop-up classes!

JeniFit will help you reach and/or maintain your healthy weight in an enjoyable and attainable way. Before your know it, you won’t even think twice about making healthy choice, because it’ll become second nature!
